Because the damping of all products is turned down by 12dB, it is not possible to hear the real difference between the products and using no protection. We made this choice because the aim of this tool is to let you hear and compare how different products influence the sound in difference situations. And even with the damping turned down you are still able to notice a significant volume difference between the products and no protection.

Crescendo Events

Crescendo Events is our low cost universal fit hearing protector designed specifically for music enthusiasts.

Crescendo Events provides excellent music reproduction. The sound is reduced by about 15 dB whilst speech remains clear, making it possible to fully enjoy the music without damaging your hearing.

Earmuffs

Acoustic earmuffs, covering the entire ear, can do a great job in protecting your ears from very loud sounds. However they have big impact your sound perception.

Earmuffs can make it very hard to understand speech and can make you miss alarm or warning signals as they completely distort your sound experience.

Foam

Disposable foam ear plugs can do a great job in protecting your ears from loud sounds. However it does make everything sound muffled and unnatural.

Foam ear plugs can ruin your (music) experience. In certain situations they can also make it more difficult to understand speech and hear alarm or warning signals.

Tube Filter NN

A lot of low cost universal fit hearing protectors make use of tube sized filters. These filters use of a very narrow tube or hole to dampen the sound.

In general these products provide a less muffled sound compared to foam, but won't deliver you a natural music experience.
